Career Expo 2011 will take place on March 3rd and
4th.
During these two days, employers from across the country representing the fields of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning will come to the University of Illinois campus to showcase their firms, build relationships with the University, and interview potential candidates for both summer and full-time employment. Career Expo is hosted by the School of Architecture and organized through the Undergraduate Office,
Lee W. Waldrep, Assistant Director; Carl G Lewis, Advisor; Rhonda Frank, Secretary.
Information for Employers
This is an excellent venue for employers to make a first contact with both graduate and undergraduate students and begin the hiring process. Space is also available for more in-depth interviews. Registration for Career Expo 2011 will be available beginning
October 2010. Basic registration for this two-day event includes 1 display area in the Illinois Ballroom at the I Hotel and Conference Center. Information on local accommodations is available in the Employer Information Packet (see link above) or from the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce.
Information for Students
Students are able to 'interview' firms—to ask questions about architecture and its future. For juniors, seniors and graduate students this is a great opportunity to meet and interview the representatives— many of whom are the decision-makers for hiring. You will also want to sell yourself to them! For freshman and sophomores, this is an exceptional time to find out more about architecture from practitioners, laying the groundwork for future employment.
Grad students, seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen this event is for you! This is a great time to get involved by volunteering to work and meet the employers! Contact Carl Lewis (cglewis1@illinois.edu, 333-7720) about how you can help!
